ABOUT ME

Hi! I’m Emily, I am the Owner of “Groomed By Emily” based at Groomingdales of Bradford in Eccleshill.

I have been grooming professionally since February 2024, but I have been grooming as a hobby for about 8 years. My passion for grooming was inspired by my family dog Ellie, a long hared chihuahua. I spent years studying double coats on YouTube and watching rescue dogs getting shave downs, and this inspired me to start offering free grooms to friends and family dogs.

When I decided it was time for a career change, I was looking for something that would bring me joy every day, something I wanted to get up and go for, and dog grooming was my top choice. I have a passion for caring for animals and helping them be comfortable. (and the daily puppy cuddles help too!)

I started working as a Saturday girl in an established salon in the February 2024 whilst taking evening classes to gain my Level 3 Award in Introduction to Dog Grooming, slowly working my way up to be a full time qualified groomer by August of the same year. In November 2024 the opportunity came up to co-own my first salon! It wasn’t easy that’s for sure but I wouldn’t change that experience for the world.

Since October 2025 i have been based out of Groomingdales, a well established large salon working alongside a great team with a plethora of knowledge. I have the pleasure of working for them one day a week along side my three days of independent clients

If you have met me it will come as no surprise to you that my original degree was in Musical Theater, but after a major injury and COVID hitting, my dream for the stage was crushed so i started working for my family business. I worked in the Firearms Industry for 5 years before my career change, where I gained experience with a lot of working game dogs and their trainers.

I now live with my partner Paul, our pup Belle and his two boys. you may occasionally meet my sassy mutt Belle, she thinks she was a doorbelle in a past life. Shes the definition of all bark no bite, you will hear her before you see her and her crooked front teeth. Paul is my new “Saturday Girl” and you may catch him trying to steal your dog if you have an English Bulldog.
